“We don’t want to trend on social media, but want others to follow the trend”, says Nidarshana Gowani of Kamala Trust

Trending on Twitter and other social media channels has become a style statement for many. An increasing number of people are taking pride in the trends and flaunting it to reap benefits for their businesses and initiatives. Nidarshana Gowani of Ankibai Ghamandiram Gowani Trust, however, is different. Over the past few weeks, Kamala Trust has been consistently trending on Twitter. Even today, it is at the 2nd position on the national charts. However, Ms Nidarshana doesn’t want to flaunt this position. She just wants others to follow suit and do whatever they can for those in need.

Today, there are very few people who are unaware of Kamala trust, Nidarshana Gowani, and their efforts. The trust is working day and night and touching the lives of people in numerous ways. Their efforts include upliftment initiatives for the transgender community, self-employment initiatives, feeding drives for stray animals, HPV vaccination drives, felicitation events for military widows, dharamshala and temple establishment, solidarity walks etc.
We talked to Nidarshana about these efforts and she said that there is so much suffering in the world that all of us need to do our bit. She also said that many times people remark that the trust has ample means to support such initiatives.

Nidarshana is grateful to god for giving her the means to support such initiatives. She believes that all of us can do something on our level and we all should. Rest the trends and the numbers don’t matter to her. She says that the trust doesn’t work for recognition. Many of their efforts and initiatives date back to times when social media didn’t exist and they hope to continue doing the same with whatever means they have.

These steps are a great way to help desolate people who are suffering from misfortune. We hope that all this recognition helps to give enough spotlight to such pressing issues and that more people come forward to help others the best way they can. Money is secondary; when there is an intent to help, only efforts and volunteering can also make a huge difference.

Kamala trust is spreading its wings in different directions each day and touching a multitude of lives. We hope god bestows them with the means to continue their efforts and more and more people benefit from the efforts.
