Child Help Foundation Won Best NGO Award at MBMC Award Ceremony for their RRR Activity

Mumbai, July 12th, 2023: Child Help Foundation(CHF), a Pan-India non-profit organization, is honored to receive the award for the ‘Best Performing NGO’ for their RRR Activity i.e Reduce, Reuse and Recycle organized by MBMC (Mira Bhaindar Municipal Corporation). The event was organized by MBMC under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs Programe which had initiated the RRR activity to raise awareness about the conservation of the environment. The NGO also received many other awards for their splendid contribution to society.

Child Help Foundation strongly believes that a clean and healthy environment will help the future generation to have a robust life. Since its inception, the NGO has actively participated, organized campaigns and conducted activities to raise awareness for the conservation of the environment and to make the masses aware of its benefits and consequences of ignorance. For over the course of its 12 years of existence, Child Help Foundation has positively impacted the lives of 41,08,814 people. CHF has strived for a greener world, by conducting regular beach clean-ups, awareness programmes, and celebrations of ‘No Plastic Day’. With its beach cleaning initiatives, the organization has saved 2,08,77,780 marine lives.

Mira Bhaindar Municipal Corporation organized a competition from 20th May to 4th June 2023 for the Reuse, Reduce and Recycle (RRR) Activity and on World Environment Day, 5th June 2023, MBMC announced the award for the best performing NGO on the basis of the competition. The competition began with the inauguration ceremony of the RRR Centre at Mira-Bhaindar. The team of Child Help Foundation participated in this competition along with other NGOs of Mira-Bhaindar which involved a donation activity of Old Clothes, Footwear, Toys, Books, Plastic Items, Utensils, Thermocol and Electronic Gadgets. The volunteers of Child Help Foundation and employees of the commercial building, Sai Arpan, stepped forward and selflessly donated whatever they can. These were then handed over to the MBMC Officials at the RRR Centre Mira Bhaindar and were given to the people in need.

During this competition, Child Help Foundation volunteers organized different programmes in different locations. CHF volunteers performed Flashmob at Mira Road Railway Station to create awareness of the RRR. The Flashmob was an enthralling visual display of singing and dancing, which succeeded in capturing the attention of the audience. Child Help Foundation volunteers also organized Powada, a traditional Marathi Ballad to raise awareness of social issues at various locations like RRR Navghar Centre, Maxus Mall Bhaindar, and MBMC Head Office. The event was enthusiastically performed to enlighten the audience about the significance of RRR (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) and the activity.

The MBMC officials held an award ceremony on World Environment Day on 5th June 2023 which was graced by the presence of Thane (Ovala-Majiwada) MLA Mr Pratap Sarnaik, Mira Bhayandar MLA Mrs Geeta Jain and Commissioner Mr Dilip Dhole along with other MBMC dignitaries at Bharat Ratna Gaansamragyi Lata Mangeshkar Natya Gruha Auditorium. The organization had the opportunity to showcase the performance of teachers of its Ashram Schools and volunteers at the award show. Child Help Foundation won many prestigious awards for its splendid work. They bagged four awards – WINS (Women Icons Leading Swachhata): Best NGO, Best Performing NGO at the RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), Best Performing Society and Token of Appreciation for Exemplary Contribution to Society.

Talking about the award for the RRR Best Performing NGO, the CEO and Spokesperson of Child Help Foundation Mr Shaji Varghese said, “Child Help Foundation team is honored to win the Best NGO Award for the RRR (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) Activity.
