Chennai: Producer Deepan Boopathy’s psychological thriller Puriyatha Puthir has been recognised at the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, marking a notable achievement for the content-driven film.

Reacting to the honour, Deepan Boopathy thanked the Tamil Nadu government, including Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, for acknowledging the film.

“I am very happy and honoured that Puriyatha Puthir has received this recognition. I thank the Honourable Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for encouraging films like ours,” he said.

Known for its unconventional narrative, Puriyatha Puthir stood out for its psychological depth and exploration of relationships, trust, and human emotions. The film has been appreciated for its gripping storytelling and distinctive treatment.

Deepan Boopathy credited the film’s success to the efforts of his team, especially lead actor Vijay Sethupathi and composer Sam C.S., whose contributions played a key role in shaping the film’s impact.

“Working with Vijay Sethupathi and Sam C.S. was a great experience. Their commitment and creativity added immense value to the film,” he noted.

The producer added that the recognition reinforces his belief in backing strong, content-oriented cinema.

“This motivates me to continue supporting meaningful and innovative storytelling in Tamil cinema,” Deepan Boopathy said.

Puriyatha Puthir continues to be regarded as a notable psychological thriller that pushed narrative boundaries within mainstream Tamil cinema.
