New Delhi (India), March 29: After a hiatus of 2 years, the capital city is all set to witness the 7th edition of Mela Phulkari themed Ajj Din Chadeya. The Mela, put together by Kirandeep Kaur and Harinder Singh, founders of 1469 Original and art historian Dr. Alka Pande, along with talented artists, designers, and photographers, is an endeavor to create an immersive experience in the cultural domain. It is a humble attempt to give the onlookers the same joy they experience from their proud traditions. Not specific to the Sikh identity, Mela Phulkari transcends identity and local geography and speaks the language of humanity.
The Mela in the preceding years has seen a strong presence and participation of filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, singer Rabbi Shergill, Jasbir Jassi, legendary singer Gurmeet Bawa, Rani Jhansi Nalwa folk group, and Major Singh, who brings his famous Malwai Giddha team from Sangrur. This year will be no different. There will be dance, music, and stand-up infused with the purity of culture and heritage. Art installations will complement the space and brighten the ambience attempting to make Ajj Din Chadeya an unforgettable experience for every visitor.
The Mela will be organized on the 1st of April, 2023, from 12 Noon Onwards at Amphitheatre, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
