Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Goes Green and Contributes to Sustainability in India
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 22: Actor Sunny Deol has commenced the Tree Plantation Drive of Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2023. DPIFF has been taking the helm for years when it comes to creating a sustainable living environment in India. With CSR activities which make real impacts, the young team of DPIFF has become known for their conscious efforts towards the progress of the country.
Sunny Deol has delivered iconic performances and embodied some of the most memorable characters in Bollywood. He shot to fame with his highly acclaimed debut film Betaab in 1983, receiving praise from far and wide. His sparkling repertoire includes unforgettable performances in critically acclaimed films like Ghayal, for which he won a National Film Award in 1990. For admirers of Sunny Deol, his portrayal of a lawyer in Damini has always held a special place, just as his character in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha has stolen hearts as well as accord.
The activity was carried out with the support of DPIFF’s Powered by Partner Mastercard & Joy e-bike, Co-Powered by Nutrilite by Amway, Simpl, Metro Shoes, TTK Prestige and Beverage Partner – Black Dog Soda. The DPIFF team is ensuring the work of the activities that will enable the ecosystem to recover and reset. The ambitious project is a stepping stone towards a greener world.
With the “We For World Foundation” registered under Niti Aayog, the team has been working towards sustainable development which has culminated in the idea for a Tree Plantation Drive. It is one of the ten CSR activities which have been planned for the year and is guaranteed to make a change by planting the evergreen future of the nation. In 2021, DPIFF executed a Tree Plantation Drive with the Indian Army as part of their Go Green Initiative, which was lauded by the dignitaries present. The initiatives in the past have never failed to leave their mark and have been applauded by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah Ji.
For 2023, DPIFF has endeavoured to embark on a journey through the annals of the silver screen, aiming to highlight the theme of Cinematic Tourism. The prestigious platform plans to honour the diversity of India with an evening of revelry that will feature cultural splendour from all corners of the nation while saluting the spectacular talent of the land. Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2023, under the support of Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya, will be held on the 20th of February, 2023, at Taj Land’s End in Mumbai.
The Tree Plantation initiative was in association with MapmyIndia Mappls, Blue Star, Haldiram’s Nagpur, Max Life Insurance & IIFL Finance and Tourism Partners Punjab Tourism, Uttar Pradesh Tourism, Madhya Pradesh Tourism & Chhattisgarh Tourism.
