New Delhi [India], July 17: BlueRose is delighted to present Ankahee: Unsaid, Unkept, Unexplored Emotions, a heartfelt bilingual poetry collection by Snigdha Jha. More than just a compilation of poems, the book is an emotional journey through love, loss, hope, resilience, and self-discovery. Written in both English and Hindi, the anthology captures the unspoken emotions that often remain buried within the human heart, reminding readers that poetry has the power to heal, comfort, and connect people across languages and experiences.
For Snigdha Jha, writing has always been more than a creative expression—it has been a way of understanding life and giving voice to emotions that words spoken aloud often fail to convey. A freelance writer and academician, she has spent years nurturing both literature and young minds. Her poems, short stories, and research papers have appeared in numerous national, international, and world anthologies, reflecting her deep commitment to language and storytelling.
A postgraduate in English from Hindu College, University of Delhi, Snigdha began her teaching career as a Guest Assistant Professor of English at several colleges under the University of Delhi. She later served as a visiting faculty member at the Amity Institute of English Studies and Research. Today, after qualifying the BPSC TRE examination, she teaches as a Post Graduate Teacher of English at a government higher secondary school in Uchhati, Biraul, Darbhanga, Bihar, where she mentors students of Classes XI and XII. Her experiences as an educator, from metropolitan universities to rural classrooms, have enriched her understanding of people, society, and the emotions that shape human lives.
Although she had been writing poetry since her childhood, Snigdha’s journey as a serious writer began after the completion of her PhD thesis. The dream of becoming an author, however, had taken root much earlier. As a teenager, she was deeply inspired when Arundhati Roy’s The God of Small Things won the Booker Prize, planting the belief that literature could transcend boundaries and leave a lasting impact on readers across the world.
The inspiration behind Ankahee: Unsaid, Unkept, Unexplored Emotions emerged from one of the most difficult periods of her life. The consecutive loss of her maternal grandmother, father, and beloved maternal uncle within three years left an emotional void that words alone could scarcely describe. Poetry became both a refuge and a means of healing. Through this anthology, she transformed grief into creativity, allowing hidden emotions to surface with honesty and grace.
The collection is a bilingual anthology featuring 56 poems in English and around 46 poems in Hindi, making it a unique literary offering that celebrates the expressive richness of both languages. While the English poems explore themes ranging from spirituality, nature, relationships, and memories to social concerns such as body shaming, gender inequality, caste, and prejudice, the Hindi poems beautifully capture emotions of parental love, separation, joy, longing, and personal reflection. Despite the diversity of subjects, one quality unites every poem, its sincerity of expression.
Rather than relying on elaborate literary devices, Snigdha writes from the heart. Her poems are deeply personal yet universally relatable, allowing readers to recognise their own emotions within the verses. Those who have experienced the pain of losing loved ones may find comfort in her words, while others will appreciate the anthology’s reflections on hope, resilience, faith, and the beauty of everyday life.
Beyond writing, Snigdha continues to inspire students through her dedication to teaching. Her interactions with learners from different social and educational backgrounds have strengthened her empathy and reinforced her belief that education and literature together possess the power to transform lives. These experiences naturally find their way into her writing, adding depth and authenticity to her work.
Looking ahead, Snigdha hopes to make writing her lifelong vocation. Having already published two poetry anthologies, she now plans to explore short stories and fiction, with the synopsis of her first novel already taking shape. She encourages aspiring writers to remain honest in their craft, write in the language they connect with most deeply, and stay true to their voice rather than chasing superficial recognition.
Through Ankahee: Unsaid, Unkept, Unexplored Emotions, Snigdha Jha offers readers more than poetry—she offers companionship, healing, and a reminder that every emotion deserves to be acknowledged. Whether read for solace, reflection, or the simple love of poetry, the anthology stands as a moving celebration of the emotions that unite us all.
