Nashik | 26th June 2025: In a remarkable stride towards global exposure and sports development, 12 Nashikites from Ashoka Group of Schools embarked on an enriching international sports journey to Budapest, Hungary, from 18th May to 25th May 2025. This international collaboration was organized in association with the Budapest Sports Association, under the careful coordination of Dr. Dinesh Sabnis, AGM – Sports and Activities, Ashoka Group of Schools.
The prime objective of this visit of this U-16 Boys football team was to immerse students in global sporting culture through three friendly football matches against multiple local Hungarian clubs. These matches not only honed the athletic skills of the students but also fostered camaraderie and team spirit across borders.
The Ashoka team also had the privilege of visiting the renowned Sports University in Budapest, where students explored diverse career pathways in the sports industry.
A highlight of the tour was an inspiring mentor session with internationally certified coaches from Hungary and Bulgaria, which provided students with hands-on tactical knowledge and personalized feedback—broadening their perspective and refining their on-field strategies.
Ashoka’s young athletes proudly represented the school in a Football League Tournament, competing with three other international teams. Their outstanding performance led them to secure 3rd place, showcasing their grit, skill, and sportsmanship on an international platform.
The delegation was accompanied and guided by Mr. Nagesh Rajmane, Head of the Sports Department, Ashoka Universal School.
“This initiative wasn’t just about the matches. It was about opening doors, building bridges, and giving our students a taste of international sports culture and opportunities,” said Dr. Dinesh Sabnis, who spearheaded the coordination of the entire event.
This Budapest journey marks a significant milestone in Ashoka Group of Schools’ commitment to nurturing global citizens and empowering students with exposure, skills, and vision for the future.
