Bengaluru (India), November 30Global Music Institute (GMI) and Toto Funds the Arts (TFA) joined forces to present an exciting event in Bangalore, marking a significant milestone for both organizations. This special occasion integrated GMI’s inaugural event at Bangalore International Centre with TFA’s grand 20th-year celebration. The aptly named ‘SoundMaps’ was a one-day extravaganza that promised a diverse range of workshops, engaging panel discussions, and captivating performances, conversations and knowledge sharing that left the 70 attendees enthralled.

Aditya Balani, Co-Founder of GMI commented, “Navigating the complex and ever-evolving landscape of the music industry can be challenging even for established artists let alone aspiring musicians. Our endeavour with this event was to “connect the dots” between various facets of this eco-system from songwriting, composition, creator rights, monetisation channels, music technology/AI, branding and marketing. To have individuals and organisations working at the intersections of these aspects coming together to share, discuss and ideate can be extremely beneficial for the entire eco-system.”

Prominent music industry professionals Vasu Dixit (Lead Vocalist- Swarathma), Mansoor Ali Khan (Co-founder- Beatoven), Sandhya Surendran (IP Partner-BTC Legal), Rohan Jain (Co-founder- MADVerse) & Aditi Ramesh (Singer/Songwriter) amongst others addressed sessions spread through the day. The discussions covered subjects such as Tech Talk- which delved into the transformative relationship between music and technology; Music in Visual Media, which discovered the synergy between melodies and visuals, uncovered music placement strategies, and explored music’s impact on the cinematic and streaming world; The Artist’s Toolkit, delved into the multifaceted world of artists, uncovering the full spectrum of their creative journey and the highly anticipated Songwriter’s Circle, where the panellists take us through the inspirations, techniques, and personal stories behind their songs.

While speaking on the replication of this event in the future Aditya purported, “This kind of open exchange can inspire aspiring artists to find a stronger footing and help demystify some of the more complex nuances, while also opening up space for them to network and connect with fellow artists and potential managers, publishers and booking agents. We look forward to hosting SoundMaps on an even larger and grander scale in the future.”
