New Delhi (India), September 11: This is the story of Priyanka Ghosh – an average teenager living in the bustling city of Delhi, where dreams often collide with the harsh reality of life, and yet this story has a happy-ever-after ending.
Born into a family with meagre means, Priyanka always aspired to be a doctor. Currently studying at the Bengali Senior Secondary School, Delhi in Std. XII, Priyanka dwells in a modest rental accommodation, a single child in a family where every penny country. Her father, an employee in a small shop & mother, a housewife, manage to make ends meet for the family. As a young girl growing up, aware of her and her family’s financial circumstances, Priyanka began to question her own dreams and aspirations. As is the case, with many dreams born in the hearts of children from humble backgrounds, Priyanka’s aspirations faced an uninvited guest – the reality of her family’s financial situation. There were times when the weight of her family’s economic condition pressed heavily on her shoulders. She knew that pursuing her dream might be beyond their reach.
‘My family’s financial situation is not one where I can shut my eyes and pursue my aspirations without any thought or consideration. Despite a good academic result in Class X, I was unsure of my future decision until I got to know of the Yuva Unstoppable Scholarship Programme through my school.
