Thiruvananthapuram – Republican Party of India (Athawale)National Secretary General, Dr. Rajeev Menon, has called for the resignation of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan following serious allegations made by MLA PV Anvar. The allegations, which target high-ranking officials within the Chief Minister’s office, demand a transparent investigation and raise questions about the state’s governance.
Speaking at a press conference, Dr. Menon highlighted the gravity of the situation: “MLA PV Anvar has raised serious allegations that directly implicate the Chief Minister’s office.
These accusations cannot be taken lightly. It is now essential for the Chief Minister to respond to these claims and step down to ensure an unbiased investigation.”
MLA Anvar’s accusations particularly focus on the involvement of the Chief Minister’s political secretary, P. Sasi, and ADGP Ajith Kumar, both of whom have been accused of failing to uphold their responsibilities. According to Anvar, the Chief Minister’s office has knowledge of these illegal activities, raising further concerns about the state of governance in Kerala.
Dr. Menon expressed deep concern, stating, “The fact that these allegations have been directed at key figures within the Chief Minister’s office is alarming. P. Sasi and ADGP Ajith Kumar are both individuals entrusted with maintaining law and order, yet they have failed to do so, according to these allegations. Dr. Menon reiterated his call for the Chief Minister to step down and allow a central investigative agency to take over the inquiry. “The seriousness of these allegations warrants an investigation by a neutral, central agency. It is in the best interest of Kerala and its people that Pinarayi Vijayan resigns and lets the central government handle the probe,” he said.
He added, “Kerala cannot afford a situation where top government officials are involved in criminal activities. The Chief Minister stepping down would allow for a transparent investigation and help restore the faith of the people.”
MLA Anvar’s press conference included video evidence, which he claims shows police involvement in gold smuggling activities. Despite the serious nature of this evidence, there has been little action taken by the state government or law enforcement. Dr. Menon commented, “The video evidence presented by Anvar is highly concerning. If members of the police force are involved in criminal activities and being protected by the government, it raises serious questions about the integrity of the state’s leadership.”
Dr. Menon called on the government to be transparent with the investigation and provide the public with answers. He explained, “The people of Kerala deserve to know the truth. These allegations cannot be swept under the rug. An unbiased, thorough investigation is the only way to ensure justice and accountability.”
