NEW DELHI: Amb. Dr. Rajeev Menon, National Secretary General of the Republican Party of India (Athawale), has called for a high-level investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the alleged foreign funding of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and its leadership, citing statements attributed to American singer and cultural ambassador Mary Millben.

Referring to allegations that certain US-based donors are providing financial support to CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi and encourage unrest, Dr. Menon called for a thorough examination of the party’s financial links and any potential foreign funding.

Dr. Menon alleged that the reported claims raise concerns about possible attempts to influence India’s domestic political environment through overseas financial support. He urged the competent authorities to examine the allegations and take appropriate action if any violations of law are established.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is an internationally respected statesman, and India continues to make progress under his leadership. Any attempt to use foreign funding to fuel unrest or disrupt public order must be examined seriously by the competent authorities,” Dr. Menon said.

He further expressed concern over disruptions to emergency healthcare services, public transport and the daily lives of ordinary citizens, and called for a thorough investigation into any financial activities found to be connected with unlawful conduct.
