Bharuch, Gujarat: Long before AADIJAY® expanded into a fast-growing food brand with more than 300 outlets across Gujarat, its foundation was built through something far more personal than marketing campaigns or investor presentations — one hundred direct conversations with customers.
Founded by Amit B Choudhury, AADIJAY® began as a humble home-kitchen venture in Bharuch. The business started with biryani prepared by his wife Kousika during Sunday operations, while Amit balanced the venture alongside his career in banking. Initially listed on Zomato with minimal advertising support, the brand slowly began attracting loyal customers through consistency and quality.
While most early-stage businesses focus only on increasing sales numbers, Amit took a different route. Drawing from his professional experience in banking and risk analysis, he believed growth alone could not define a sustainable business. Instead of depending entirely on analytics dashboards and order reports, he personally called every one of AADIJAY®’s first 100 customers.
“There was no script and no formal process,” Amit recalls. “I simply introduced myself as the founder and asked them one question — what did you honestly think about the experience?”
The feedback became a defining moment in the company’s journey. According to Amit, all 100 customers responded positively, appreciating the food quality, packaging, delivery experience, and overall service. More importantly, each customer expressed willingness to order again.
For Amit, those conversations became the first true validation of the business.
“That was the moment I realised AADIJAY® was not just an idea anymore,” he said. “When you speak directly to customers and understand that you have genuinely met expectations consistently, it changes the way you build the company.”
The experience shaped the operational philosophy of AADIJAY® — prioritising customer feedback before expansion. Decisions related to scaling, operational improvements, and market expansion continue to be guided by direct consumer experience rather than assumptions alone.
Today, AADIJAY® stands as one of Gujarat’s emerging food brands, but the company maintains the same principle that defined its earliest days: listen to the customer first.
Industry observers believe this customer-first approach has played a significant role in the brand’s rapid growth and strong market retention, especially in an increasingly competitive food and delivery ecosystem.
