NEW DELHI: Strongly condemning the persistent trend of opposition parties manufacturing political noise and issuing arbitrary demands for the resignations of constitutional authorities, institutional heads, and senior bureaucrats, Amb. Dr. Rajeev Menon, National Secretary General of the Republican Party of India (Athawale), has termed the behavior as a cheap political gimmick designed to undermine democratic stability.
Reacting sharply to recent instances where opposition factions have tried to weaponize administrative disagreements and routine internal procedures for partisan gains, Amb. Dr. Rajeev Menon stated that targeting hardworking civil servants and independent statutory bodies has become a default survival strategy for leaders suffering from continuous electoral rejection.
“It is a matter of deep regret that certain political entities choose to target administrative heads and constitutional offices whenever democratic systems and lawful processes fail to suit their political convenience. Demanding arbitrary resignations based on manufactured controversies is an insult to the hard-working bureaucrats and officials who run the administrative machinery of this country,” Amb. Dr. Rajeev Menon asserted.
Highlighting that India’s democratic and administrative frameworks operate with absolute transparency and adherence to the rule of law under the stable governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he emphasized that autonomous institutions cannot be permitted to become soft targets for political posturing. Amb. Dr. Rajeev Menon urged political parties to respect the sanctity of public institutions and engage constructively in the nation’s growth trajectory rather than indulging in relentless arm-twisting tactics.
