International Conservation Day, observed on July 28th, is a global initiative to promote the protection and preservation of natural resources and wildlife. It serves as a reminder for people worldwide to take responsibility for their actions and contribute to the well-being of the planet.
At Makoons Play School, renowned for its commitment to holistic education, International Conservation Day was commemorated with great enthusiasm and creativity. Both the Vigyan Vihar and Mansarovar Park branches of the school were abuzz with activities that not only educated the young students but also left a lasting impact on their minds.
The Founder and CEO of Makoons Group of Schools, Mr. Vijay Kumar Agarwal, spoke passionately about the significance of the day and the importance of inculcating environmental consciousness in children. He emphasized, “At Makoons, we believe in imparting values that extend beyond books and classrooms. By nurturing a love for the environment in their hearts, we are sowing the seeds for a greener and more sustainable future.”
Mrs. Aditi Dhiman, Director of Makoons Play School in Vigyan Vihar, expressed her delight at the enthusiastic participation of the young learners. She said, “It’s heartwarming to witness the curiosity and eagerness of our children to learn about conservation. The joy and excitement on their faces were truly inspiring.”
Meanwhile, Mrs. Manjary Varshney, Director of Makoons Play School in Mansarovar Park, was thrilled with the creativity displayed by the children during the event. “Art is a powerful medium to express thoughts and feelings. Our students beautifully conveyed their love for nature through paintings and craftwork, which served as a gentle reminder of our responsibility as caretakers of the Earth. It’s essential to nurture their empathy for the environment from an early age,” she added.
The celebrations at both branches included a range of activities, including nature walks, tree-planting drives, and discussions on wildlife conservation. The children were actively involved in making eco-friendly crafts and were educated about sustainable practices like waste management and water conservation.
To further engage the children, informative sessions were held where they learned about various endangered species and the importance of protecting their habitats.
Additionally, the kids enjoyed role-playing games that allowed them to understand the challenges faced by wildlife and how they can contribute to preserving natural ecosystems.
The event concluded with an oath-taking ceremony where the children pledged to do their part in conserving the environment and protecting the rich biodiversity of the planet.
In conclusion, International Conservation Day at Makoons Play School in Vigyan Vihar and Mansarovar Park served as a significant milestone in nurturing a generation that cares for the Earth.
