“Krishna Burli is a rare artist whose work is full of grace and transports us. His is an art informed by a deep intellectual understanding of life as well as an aesthetic response to the grace which pervades the world. In keeping with ancient Indian traditions of aesthetics, the art of Krishna Burli takes us to a realm where beauty truly awakens the best which is within us. In keeping with the message of his art, Krishna Burli works with exquisite dried flowers and leaves, all derived from nature and helping to remind us always of our connection with the natural order”.
Author, Krishna Burli, strongly feels that curves & colors, contours and flows, when mixed in the proper way, give a sweet expression of the rhythm of life. An individual’s inner “Nature” appears as though it is dancing in sync with whole of outside human landscape.
Each individual is a unique divine expression, bestowed by nature / this universe with the power of perception & feelings, which differ from each other. There lies the beauty & problem, based on the desire of one with the other & the play of virtues & vices, similar to the colors of rainbow & the play of light, water & perceptions with which angle or the way things are seen & felt.
Art is but the effort to express the inner feelings with the outer references, with relative feelings to make the moments beautiful, memorable, sweet & lovable in general with individual perceptions, which may give an “AHA” moment to the onlooker. This may include, words, tunes / music, curves & colors, contours, viewing in different ways & views. That is why they say “Poet sees what a sun cannot see”. The difference is in perception of sight & insight.
Perception is the key differentiator:
Same object, same situation, same thing is viewed differently by different people. That is the magic of this human perception!
Well known example of half full & half empty. Magic is in the way you look at it.
Half of life is filled or half of life is empty!
In fact, life itself is momentary. moment is slippery. In that slippery moment of life, what is half & what is full! Living that moment lively is the point.
Kanakadaasa, a great philosopher of Kannada, once asked
“Are you in magic or magic is in you”?
Further, he asks “ space is in house or house is in space?”
Both are viewed as different perceptions of the same thing or situation.
The house is in this vast space
There is a space in our house as well.
In the house, everyone is in the same environment, consumes the same food, has the same belief systems. Each has a unique way of perception
Similarly, abstract art is with different perceptions, the way you look at the same differently.
Some look at it normally with lines & contours, others try to look in the gap spaces with the same contours.
For instance, in the display of COME CLOSER abstract art done with dried leaves & flowers, straight look gives a feeling of a flower bouquet. However, the other look with space & contours gives a feeling of two faces coming closer.
The same is true with waves, clouds & other contours in nature. Children enjoy perceiving different animal figures , symbols & trying to form different figures with different angles & perceptions.
Life is basically by memory and feel. Instincts & intelligence build the human seed the way one wants to develop with heart of feel, by the way one wants to, depending on likes & dislikes due to the attachment of things.
We need to tune our inner landscape with our outer, by adjusting our aspersions and efforts with available resources. The author feels that leaves & flowers are nature’s gifts to this planet in bounty. The author once sent a greeting to his father with natural flowers, leaves and grass, which lasted for decades with its natural elegance. This made him think of using the leaves & flowers to express feelings deep inside us.The author tried his hands & mind on the following & started creating differentiated art through abstract presentations and different perceptions, giving divine & philosophical expressions to the displays.
Abstract art work is shared below, focusing on a unique theme, conveying in-depth meaning to art works.
The display continues with mood change & submission to Nature with different rhythms at different times
