New Delhi (India), August 19: IGNCA Delhi was the stage for The Calligraphy Foundation’s successful Akshar Mahotsav on August 16–17. The event spotlighted the foundation’s initiative promoting calligraphy awareness and education, featuring Navankur Sulekhan and Sulekhan Kala Pradarshani. By blending tradition with innovation, the celebration underscored the foundation’s dedication to nurturing the art form and emphasized – अक्षर दिखेंगे नहीं तो सीखेंगे कैसे role in connecting timeless calligraphy with modern creativity
The Mahotsav unfolded through three progressive phases: INTRODUCTION, APPLICATION, and CELEBRATION. Sulekhan Kala Pradarshini showcased 150 artworks by diverse calligraphers and artists. More than 100 students aged 8 to 14 actively participated in Navankur Sulekhan. The event attracted over 450 guests, all of whom participated in the festivities. The occasion featured a variety of competitions, group activities, live demonstrations, and expert talks.
